Early Dismissal

early dismissalEvery Thursday is Early Dismissal. All TK & Kinder students are out at 1:10 PM. Dismissal time for students in grades 1-5 is 1:30 PM. Please be sure to pick up your child(ren) on time or arranged for an alternative to pick up your student(s).  Adult must be on emergency card & provide a form of ID to pick up child.

Attendance MattersIn order for students to be successful in school, regular attendance is necessary. Students need to attend school every day on time. When students are not in school, they miss important instruction time. Be sure your child gets plenty of rest the night before a school day so he/she comes to school ready to learn. Plan vacations around school holidays.

Please contact the school office when your child is absent. Illness and doctor or dental appointments are considered excused absences with a doctor's note only. All other absences are recorded as unexcused. Children should not be sent to school when they are not feeling well.

HomeworkThe faculty at Gladstone Street School believes that homework is an integral part of education. Homework serves to strengthen and enrich that which is taught during regular class time. In addition, homework will:

  • Set a pattern for lifelong learning.
  • Provide opportunities to build independent study skills.
  • Provide opportunities to use out of school learning resources.
  • Encourage parent, student and teacher interaction.
